Keeping your kitchen’s pantry organized saves time, money and hassle. If you realize you need a specific item while cooking, an organized pantry allows you to see and grab the item immediately, instead of rummaging around in a mess (and possibly burning your meal!) An organized pantry saves money by allowing you to clearly see your inventory to prevent unwanted multiple purchases of the same item, and it keeps you from allowing perishable items to spoil. If you would rather save time and energy instead of digging through mess, use these tips as a guide to organize your pantry.
01 | Use Baskets
Categorize food types into one basket to pull out when you need it and prevent needless rummaging. For example, you could group different types of flour into one basket or you could group common items needed for baking (baking soda, baking powder, salt, etc.) together. Other categories might be snacks, oils or dry goods. Baskets with rails for sliding under shelves are also great space savers!

02| Store Cans on Risers
Storing canned foods on risers helps you quickly see what you have available to use and what you need to add to your grocery list. Rummaging through cans, stacking and unstacking, can be exhausting! Save time and hassle by using risers for canned goods with your pantry organization.
03 | Use Floor Space
Use the floor space in your pantry for heavier or bulky items. Step stools, baskets with water bottles, and large bags of rice or potatoes might be good items to store on the floor. However, be sure to avoid storing small, loose items on the floor or it will result in needless clutter.
04 | Use Clear Containers
Clear containers are excellent for food storage. They allow you to see your food levels, so you know when to buy more. Many have airtight lids which keep your food fresh for longer and eliminates pests. Clear containers can also add to the overall esthetic value of your pantry.

05 | Use Tiered or Stacked Trays
Using tiered trays saves space and eliminates the need to lift items. My favorite use for a stacked tray with pantry organization is with spice storage, but it has many uses!

06 | Store Breakable Items at the Top
Keep anything fragile on the top shelves of the pantry to avoid breakage. Items such as glass vases, candlesticks, or elegant glassware can’t be knocked over by curious kids looking for a snack if they are up high and out of the way. I love this pantry created by Addison’s Wonderland!
07 | Keep Snacks for Kids Within Reach
Keeping snacks for kids within arm’s reach helps prevent both mess and breakage of items. Hungry kids wanting a snack can easily see and grab what they need without knocking items over trying to get to their favorite snack. An added benefit is they can learn to be more self-sufficient and stop nagging their parents when hungry.
07 | Use a Lazy Susan
Lazy Susans allow you to store multiple items in one space while offering the convenient ability to browse without picking anything up. Simply turn it to look at what’s there! Adding Lazy Susans to your pantry organization significantly increases your pantry storage capacity.
